Welcome to the Mount Royal Tip-Off Classic - posted: 12/09/2008
Thank you to all the players, coaches, officials, tournament volunteers and organizers, Host schools and all who made the 2008 tip off classic another success. Without all the help from everyone a tournament of this size would never be the success that it is.
Congratulations to all the teams in this years tournament, it was through your hard work and effort that this years tournament was more competitive than ever.
On behalf of the staff and students at Mount Royal Collegiate, We would like to welcome you to the twenty-sixth annual Mount Royal Tip-Off Classic. The tournament organizing committee appreciates that Marion Graham and Evan Hardy Collegiate have continued to help host games for the tournament. Without the help of the students, teachers, and caretaking staff at Mount Royal, Evan Hardy, and Marion Graham, we would not be able to host a tournament of this magnitude. We also want to thank The University of Saskatchewan Huskies Basketball programs for their continued support of our tournament.
Teams representing various categories in the Saskatchewan High School Athletic Association will be competing. With this special opportunity of competition, we hope that the Tip-Off Classic will help the players and coaches build for the upcoming 2008-2009 season.
It is the tournament committee's goal to provide a first-class tournament, where friendly competition and sportsmanship will continue to exemplify the spirit of Mount Royal.
We would also like to thank the many corporate sponsors that continue their involvement with the tournament each year. These sponsors have made generous contributions to the tournament, which has made this an exciting event. We hope you will give your patronage to these businesses.
The Mount Royal Tip-Off Classic Organizing Committee would like to wish all the coaches and players good luck during this year’s tournament. We would like to extend our best wishes to every team for a successful season. We hope that the "Tip-Off Classic" will be the beginning of the Road to Hoopla.
